Never used a sewing machine before? No problem!
This relaxed, hands-on workshop is designed specifically for complete beginners. Whether you’ve always wanted to learn to sew or simply don’t know where to start, you’ll be guided through the basics in a friendly, supportive environment.
During this 3 hour workshop, you’ll learn how to:
Get to know your sewing machine and understand its basic functions
Thread your machine and wind a bobbin
Understand common sewing terms
Choose basic stitches and machine settings
Work confidently with fabric and your sewing machine
Follow simple steps to create your own project
Cover different elements of a project, including putting a zip in
Once you’ve learnt the basics, you’ll put your new skills into practice by making your very own Box Zipper Bag - the perfect gift to yourself or a loved one, as who doesn’t love to receive something thoughtful and handmade!
There will be a small choice of fabrics so you can pick what you like.
You’ll leave with a finished project, some new sewing skills and the confidence to keep creating at home.
A copy of the sewing pattern and instructions will be given so you will leave with your completed project and knowing how to make another!
There’s no need to own a sewing machine or bring your own supplies. Sewing machines, fabric and materials are all provided.
All you need to bring is yourself and a willingness to have a go!
